Strategy
The City of Salé is committed to reducing the green
house emissions emited in the muncipality of the city of Salé and increasing
the quality of air of Salé through the promotion of energy saving measures and
renewable energy use as a base for a sustainable development of the city. The
SEAP is then oriented to achieving these goals through reducing 20% of the CO2
emissions per inhabitant by 2020. This objective seeks to improve the secuity
of energy supply and its diversification, promote sustainable development,
generalise energy access and optimise energy costs. The priority areas of
the SEAP are as follows:
·
City council
activities;
·
Building and
housing;
·
Tertiary
sector;
·
Urban
mobility;
·
Use of renewable energy
sources;
·
information
and awareness raising.
The current trends show that energy demand is growing very fast: around 5%
per year at the national level, and around 7 to 8% in electricity demand per
yearat national level due to demography increase and quick urnabanization. The
main challenge of the SEAP then is to overcome this tendence vand reach 20%
saving per inhabitant.
